Install Laptop Keyboards is easy
Most of the input that your laptop receives is through its keyboard. Without a working keyboard, you can't type, and that severely limits what you can do with your laptop. Even though the keyboard is easily the most important input device on your laptop, a broken one doesn't have to be the end of the laptop's usefulness. In most cases, you can get a replacement laptop keyboard for less than $20 and install it within 15 minutes.
Place your laptop on a clean, flat surface and remove all power sources from it. Open your laptop screen as far as you can.
Use the flathead screwdriver to pop open the hinge cover. Slowly and carefully pry it open from the right side to the left side, exposing the keyboard screws. Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws that hold the keyboard in place. Keep these screws in a safe place.
Gently tug the keyboard component toward your laptop display. You are trying to pull it out of the slot that is located near the palm rest and mouse pad. It doesn't take much force, but you must be firm. Once you have pulled it out of the slot, you can lift it up and remove it from your laptop.
Take the replacement laptop keyboard and slide it into the slot. Once in place, screw it into place with the Phillips screwdriver and the screws you removed in Step 2. Fit the hinge cover back into place by snapping it in from left to right. Power on your laptop and verify that the keyboard is working.
