My asus laptop keyboard and touchpad has stopped working?

i had just finished installing an antivirus program, it asked if would like to restart the computer. so i hit 'restart'. It did a force shutdown because there were tabs still open on the internet. when it restarted thats when the keyboard and touch pad did not work.

I'm currently using an on-screen Asus X Series Keyboard and usb mouse
